Stirrup

Stirrups are steel bars bent into different shapes, which are placed perpendicular to the longitudinal reinforcement. They are used to position rods in the reinforcement of castles and beams.

They are responsible for resisting the diagonal shear and tensile forces that may impinge on an element, as well as speeding up the construction process and eliminating waste.
